Just when you were all sick of hearing about it...
Lowe's Winner!

Lowe's Giveaway for you DIYers!

As I said previously, I got to participate in the Lowe's DIY challenge at BlogHer this year and because of that I have a $25 gift card to give away!  And anyone who's read me for awhile may have noticed... I never do giveaways.  (It's because of my jaded marketing background.)  You gotta be pretty special to get this kind of treatment and, frankly, the team at the Lowe's booth were so cool and nice I had to give them (and you guys) some love back.  I'm also all for supporting more creativity in this world, you know?  So without further ado...

If you would like a chance to win a $25 Lowe's gift card, leave a comment on this post by Wednesday and I will do a random drawing!

You can visit Lowe's Creative Ideas on Facebook or their homepage.  They're actually doing a nice little video demo on canning right now.  Speaking of which, this summer's random jam pic is...

Bing cherries!

Blogher 032

I'm so predictable. At least I haven't put up a picture of my tomatoes yet. And yes, pitting cherries is just as messy as it looks there; especially when the pitter keeps breaking.  Those aren't all bing cherry jam, btw, the jars in the back are strawberry-blueberry.  I mention that solely for the people who are expecting jam as Christmas gifts.  I mean, I wouldn't want anyone accusing me of jam deception, because I will never hear the end of it!

So are you jamming, crafting, or otherwise DIYing? Tell me about it and you may win... blah blah blah... gift card!

(See how I mentioned the giveaway three times? Like an ad that mentions a phone number three times?  Classic marketing. Thank you. Thank you very much.)

I've also included the video of our little contest, even though I am totally not comfortable in front of a camera and my hair was doing something crazy that day.  I mean, really hair?                - wg

I'm DIYing all kinds of stuffs. I think my next project will be a DIY chicken coop, because my flock has outgrown their original home. Unless I find one on Craigslist, in which case I'm sure I'd come up with SOMEthing to do with a GC :)

I'm going to change a few locks on the door, as they don't seem to work anymore. Either that, or I've been locked out of my own home.

Hey - you look great in that apron!

I just received a hot glue gun as a gift, I'm ready to fire that puppy up! I see new hair clips for my girly and broken toy repair galore in the near future. With a Lowe's GC, I might try another kind of gun...caulking...and DIY my sad unsealing bathtub!

I've been making furniture from designs on another blog...Ana-White.com. I could totally make an awesome chair with the gift card...and then I could throw a party because I would have room for one more...and everyone would say what an awesome chair it was and then I could tell the story of how it came to be...and you would be part of the happy story.

I've lived in my house more than 10 years and I've never decorated my bedroom. Oh, sure, my husband painted over the peach paint after taking down the border (praise Jesus), but Mr. Tool Man painted the walls with ceiling paint because, he said, that's what we had left. Yeah. My room is ugly. I'm willing to look beyond my obvious lake of DIY skills on some paint!

You look great--you come across very well!

You were fine in the video, and it looks like you had fun! YUMMMMM.... Strawberry Blueberry Jam!

I can't believe I haven't made any jam yet. Maybe I can just take a couple jars off your hands instead. :)

All right everyone, I will do the drawing and post results tomorrow morning!

We are remodeling our kitchen (and yes, a hurricane is approaching us as I type), so that $25 will either help out with our kitchen demo or help clean up the crap Irene leaves behind!!! :)

Ashley H.

I could really use a gc b/c we are going to redo our kitchen soon.
